My journey

I come from a background in science, specifically physics and climate science. For over 20 years, I’ve researched how air moves and how greenhouse gases affect our climate. I’ve always loved discovering new things in the physical world and sharing that knowledge with others. I had the opportunity to do that throughout my career at the University of Reading and the Met Office, which was incredibly rewarding.

But through all of this learning, I eventually realised that there was something I needed to understand better: my own body. As I started to feel changes such as aches and pains, trouble sleeping and even unexpected weight gain, I began to ask myself, "What’s going on here? How can I support my body the way I’ve supported my scientific research?" I knew a lot about the physical world, but not enough about how to take care of myself. That’s when my health journey began.

I started with food. I’ve always loved cooking, and exploring new, nutritious recipes became a fun and rewarding part of my routine. I also added strength training, something I’d never really prioritised, even though I’ve always been active. To complement this, I introduced mindfulness and Tai Chi-inspired exercises into my life, which helped me find more balance and calm. Staying connected to nature and maintaining meaningful relationships with friends were also key parts of the process.

This curiosity for how the body works, combined with my desire to share with others what I had learned, led me to pursue formal training as a nutrition and health coach. I wanted to gain the knowledge to support others on their own journeys and empower them to take control of their health.

My background in science and my passion for learning continue to fuel my work as a health coach, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you.
